I have no idea what this wine tastes like - not that I'm a wine expert. It didn't matter. I LOVED the label. Mad Housewife.
What a great idea! At $5.99 a bottle it's one of those items you walk by and just have to buy. If not for yourself, for a friend. It's proof that most wine purchases are the result of a great label. I found this today at Irvine Ranch Market in Newport Beach. Great point of purchase display. Very retro and fun.
The Cabernet Savignon pictured here won an award as a favorite in the 2009 National Women's Wine competition in Santa Rosa. So maybe it's about more than just the label.
Just goes to show that an idea doesn't have to be an invention. It can be a version of something else. Mad Housewife Cellars likely doesn't "make" the wine or grow the grapes. They probably repackage. Wish there was more about that on their site. I'll look into it.
Mad Housewife Cellars is even is looking for a "corky" tagline for its product line. The contest ends Feb. 2, so pour yourself a glass of inspiration and get creative.
